Reverse Engineer of a LCD TV Remote to Better Understand Plastic Part Design

The aim of this project was to reproduce as accurately as possible an injection molded plastic part with complicated features in SolidWorks software. 3D fused deposition modeling printing was used to compare the modelled part with the original. The project progressed through the following stages: disassembly of the remote, analysis of the plastic parts and components, measurement of the remote, 3D modelling of the remote, 3D printing of the completed model, and fitment of the 3D printed part as compared with the original and part drawings.
