Seating Designed for Carleton University's Entry into the Annual NASA Great Moon Buggy Race

An extra-curricular project developed in conjunction with several engineering students, the Carleton Moon Buggy benefits from the application of industrial design concepts. On previous buggies, rider position and seating had been afterthoughts. By applying design rationale to the ergonomics and human factors of the buggy and its riders the team hopes to build a faster moon buggy. The seat itself must fold into a defined storage position, as the entire buggy must fit into a 4' x 4' x 4' box. The completed vehicle was entered in the NASA Great Moonbuggy Competition April 3-4 in Huntsville, Alabama.
